UPFEST (acrylic & spraypaint on carton – 4m x 2.5m)

Anyway, that’s it, I’ve done it.
As you might have understand, I was part of UpFest this year (uesh you can check me out here) and truth is… I had a lot of fun.
I painted alongside Cheo, Inkie, Jody and … hey ZeeZee, this one is for you.
During two days (sat/sun) I had the pleasure to drink beers and breathe 94.
What could I say about this one?
I was meditating (yeah I do yoga) and the concept was something like I’m in a mess, in a cold dark world (which is about to change tho) but… I’m hot, willing and trying to change and thus… the fusion with the butterflies.
Don’t ask me why, ‘s just like dat.

When you think a bit ’bout it… ‘s kinda funny.
I went last year, to see Bristol (and make a urban art hunt, obviously) but also to discover how were working the artists.
I mean, technically, how’s it done duh?

I recall having spend time in front of Goin, SPQR, Julian Kimmings, Jody, Cheo, Ame72.
So many artists, and such an incredibly necessity : the one to start painting, too (well it’s not like i’ve too much things to do eh?)
Then? The rest is history, a misunderstanding and 5 months later I was painting alongside Banksy…

Now ? I’ve had an idea at the beginning but due to personal reasons… Won’t do it, maybe later, maybe not.
So I changed my mind, started something else and now I’m cutting the beast.
I hope it will be fine.

KOPYKATY (acrylic and spraypaint on canvas – 30cm x 20cm)

All comes from the profile pic of a friend of a friend (I think it’s Louis Carnage), which I really liked.
I don’t know why (and I might probably be the only one to think so) but it remind me a Audrey-Helpburn-kinda-sutff see?
I asked the permission, and started to do it… Then, lately, I finally use some Montana to train before Upfest.

From a basic stencil, it evolved onto a drippy-thingy, in pink and black, two colors that married well for this KopyKaty.

And suddenly I understand what Cheo meant with the fact he didn’t really like to talk about his stuff.
I mean, that was not really waht I intended to do at the begining.
But the result was kindaway exciting.
Bringing it to new dimensions.

NONA (acrylic and spraypaint on canvas – 40cm x 50cm)

Each artist attending UpFest need to give away a paint, reason why I create NONA.
After “V.END.etta” made for the “Expo for Mattia“, I wanted to “sign” another #Anon…
While Spain was starting its #spanishrevolution, I locked myself and produce this.
Colors were chosen to express the creation, celebrate life and promote unity.

V.END.etta (spraypaint on cardboard – 20cm x 30cm)

This painting was finally sent (and received…) to AMF in order to participate to the “Expo for Mattia” in Naples.

For the story of this painting, well it was quite easy… I wanted to send something for Mattia, and as the first one (“Mattia“) was lost, well, I needed to make another one quickly.
At that time…
Well, it was only for the #lulz. I mean…

I was watching “V for Vendetta”.
I was reading the coming from Alan Moore.
I was reading the #AnonOps…

And the way the black mask was on the gold canvas? Bah, I thought it was nice. Like an icon, see? Okay, you don’t see it, but I do.
